Wonderful unconformities in Eastern Washington

One of two unconformities described in Dan's latest post. The white rock is weathered 55 million year old granite. The dark is 15 million year old Columiba River Basalt.

My friend Dan McShane has written a wonderful new post on unconformities between Columbia River Basalt and underlying bed rock near Grand Coulee Dam. His post is on his blog, Washington Landscapes. If you don’t subscribe, you might want to start now!

Dan sure beat me to this geologic wonder!
